John Page - Artist Statement

John’s most recent work explores the world of “Contemporary Realism”.  
In these oil paintings the still life does not intend to tell a story or communicate a message, it calls attention to the mere recording of objects, or rather to the artist’s view of the objects.  The still life invites us to look at the overlooked in our busy fast moving lives. It requires us to look at the nature of viewing, not to lea us as viewers, but to a state of contemplative thinking about ourselves and how we interpret the world around us.

John lives in Seattle, WA and is represented by numerous galleries and collections.  His work has been shown at the Erie Museum of Art, Foster White Gallery (Seattle), Artworks Gallery (Seattle), and The Bellevue Art Museum.  His work is currentlyrepresented by Arterra USA, SAM Gallery (Seattle), Simon Edwards Gallery (Yakima, WA), Gallery San Juan (Friday Harbor, WA) and Marni Muir Gallery (Seattle).

His work is in collections of McGill University (Montreal), Kohler Collection, Washington Athletic Club, Lincoln Square Towers (Bellevue), Suncadia Lodge (Roslyn, WA), Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams and Dale Chihuly.
