Kennedy (Image right above) photographs staged psychological dramas.
To develop narrative and themes, Kennedy keeps journals of writings inspired by
readings, conversations and dreams. Both personally experienced and
related by others, these writings became a way to make
connections with deep levels of individual consciousness, while gaining
a further understanding of universal thoughts, imagery and emotions. Giovanni Giannini's figurative work is riddled with overtones of symbolic meaning and depth of thought about the human condition. Doug Parry's work is about people and how they treat eachother. Scott Goodwillie (image below) addresses contemporary subjects to create works that are both classically masterful and modern in mood. He positions his models as archetypes and places them in imaginative and gripping situations. As a result, an intense energy permeates, exploiting the purgative powers of visual and psychological drama. Natalie St. Martin is fascinated by self portraiture and the way the human face and figure can portray subconscious and spiritual experiences. Curt Labitzke's figurative work suggests courtship, romance, passion and desire, through vigorously worked mixed media collages and a variety of intimate poses. His almost heroic characters depict their humanity through positioning, relationship to each other and environment. Marianne McCoy's photographs whisper of the past. Using old cameras and alternative processes, McCoy captures her own imagination of days gone by.
